I was immediately impressed by the wealth of detail and photographs that Grosvenor Garage provides on its website for each of its used cars. All the questions that you would want to ask before visiting them to check out a car are already answered for you. Details such as two keys, detailed service and ownership history and even the rate of car tax for a particular vehicle. This is so useful in deciding whether to visit the premises and check out a car. Once you have seen the vehicle you are interested in then it is readily apparent that it accurately matches the online description and all you need to do is take a test drive before your mind is made up for you. As John (Stansfield) says ' the cars sell themselves' and without any exaggeration this is absolutely true. Grosvenor research their own acquisitions so well and effectively that there is no need for any hard sell and pressure to buy. Their confidence in the vehicles they offer for sale is well deserved due to their initial research and in depth provenance which in turn gives the buyer great confidence. A minor problem with my car very soon after purchase was dealt with fuss free and expediently and just added to my feeling of confidence in the car and service I received. To receive, and enjoy, service like this without any pressure to buy and in such an easygoing and friendly manner is a real treat and I can heartily recommend Grosvenor Garage for your next used car purchase. Fantastic experience and great aftersales care.
I bought a 2013 Freelander 2 from John at GG cars.
He delivered it from Preston to South Wales and collected my BMW in PX. No fuss and no pressure.
The car developed a minor issue and John paid for it to be repaired at my local garage.
I've never experienced such great service when buying a used car. I cannot recommend highly enough and would buy from GG Cars again.

John was a pleasure to deal with. An honest, down to earth businessman. No hard sell. Happy to let us test drive without any deposit or assurances needed. Good part exchange price given and actually replaced a light cluster when I wasn't expecting him to. I returned to him a few days later as I was struggling getting the tow bar electric connector to lower and again he sorted that out within minutes with no quibbles. We had been looking for a very particular Range Rover model in a very specific colour for a long time (well over a year!) and spotted one on Autotrader located at Grosvenor Garage near Preston. Following a couple of phone calls and emails to John, we decided to make a 600 mile round trip to view.

The car was gorgeous, pristine, low mileage, exactly what we wanted. We found John very easy to deal with. Couple of little items dealt with immediately. Easy transaction. Brought her home! Lovely vehicle, we are really chuffed with it.

Had a problem with the battery which John rapidly dealt with at no cost to us. True to his word. We really do recommend Grosvenor. They have a a good selection of premium vehicles in great condition.

Such a great experience with John buying my 1st car in June 2023.I can not fault them at all.The website is brilliant with all info listed,I intially has seen the listing on Autotrader.

I never felt pressured to buy my car and I was left to it when I came to view it after the deposit had been paid,even on the test drive me and my Dad felt happy knowing we weren't forced to buy it and I was very keen on the car.I have decided to review GG as 1 year on my VW Polo is great! The only minor issue was the heated wing mirror which was wobbly on the test drive but fixed when I came to collect it.
John and Barrie were also very polite and I asked ALOT of questions over the phone before I came to view it from Manchester.It was beautifully cleaned and there was a nice wax on it which was great as dust did not settle on the car for ages and looked 'brand new' for many months, also John had taken it for a MOT for peace of mind which made me feel comfortable in buying it knowing there was no major faults.

Thank you for the great service I received when buying my 1st car after I passed my test! I really recommend this garage and it was a better experience than big name dealers who pressure you into buying the car there and then which put me off as a young driver!

Super Little First Car For Our Daughter
Dealt with John at Grosvenor Garage who was very accommodating and opened up specially so we could see the car (it was a Sunday). Car was well presented at fair price and exactly the thing we were looking for so a deal was done. Unfortunately on collecting the car and driving it home we noticed a fault that required a new part however this was ordered and fitted within a week with no quibbles and all good now. Sales and after sales service was very good and would definitely consider buying another car from John in the future. Thank you.

Grosvenor Garage is excellent and straightforward to deal with.
I believe Grosvenor Garage sells cars with a good history. Simply put I trusted that John is experienced at selecting and obtaining quality cars. I do not buy cars that often, which was why I chose to travel for over 4 hours to Grosvenor Garage and buy a car with them. John made the buying process straightforward and easy. I have not experienced a problem with the purchased car or the process, but I am confident that Grosvenor Garage would be responsive and resolve any difficulty. To date John has replied to all my communications in a good time frame.. I know that many others have also found the service provided by Grosvenor Garage to be excellent and I also am happy to recommend buying a car with them.

Really happy with my purchase last year (it's taken me some time to get around to writing a review!). It was the only vehicle like it at the time and I took a punt travelling 4 hours by train to go and see it. John collected me from the railway station and everything was as advertised - I made the purchase and had the long drive home a very satisfied customer. From starting the conversation about buying to purchase collection and aftercare John and Barrie at GG have been excellent Open transparent with a real focus on looking after the customer Fair deal on my part ex and a good price for my previously enjoyed Porsche I had asked for a few chips on the windscreen to be repaired but at their own cost they replaced the heated screen which I hadn't even noticed wasn't working After care also excellent.. a brake squeal saw new front pads and discs fitted under warranty Old fashioned honest small garage dealers who make their money on the chassis and good customer care not a load of overpriced add ons that actually add little value No hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for a car Barrie's videos are worth a watch and how I found out about them in the first place

I'm writing this review 6 months after purchasing our family car (Ford Focus) from Grosvenor Garage. The purchase process was straight forward and there were no pushy sales tactics from Barry. He just left us to get on with it.

I'm certainly no car expert and so am always apprehensive when making a large purchase in an area i don't fully understand. I've deliberately left it 6 months before writing the review. So far the car has been fantastic and there haven't been any unwanted surprises. moving forward but from my own experience I can certainly recommend the John and Barry.

Bought my Audi A7 bitdi from GG cars 3 weeks ago , drove up to Preston from Essex . I really like the honesty from John and Barry right from the extensive YouTube video of the car covering every angle , every detail, every feature but also through to the Sale process and fair PX price on my car too . Like many other reviews stated if you want a high gloss , glass fronted showroom this ain't the dealer for you . If you want an honest car at an honest price with fantastic service then head here ( no matter what part of the country you are coming from) . I indeed went to an Audi dealer and looked at a 35 k A7 that was presented in awful condition so I know where I would rather buy from .

Bought a lovely immaculate Suzuki Swift SZ3 off these guys last year. Originally seen it online and living away from Preston we arranged to pop down and see it. As soon as we got there everyone at the garage was very welcoming, gave us the keys to have a look in, explained everything about the car and took it for a little test run. I dont think it took me even 30 minutes to decide this was the one. Fantastic service, John took care of everything for me so a week later i could drive it away. Excellent service and would definitely recommend to anyone!

Delighted with my new motor a 2008 Honda a calm and relaxed dealer made it easy after leaving a deposit they got it ready for me, after a few days i got the phone call to say it's ready on collection i was told rear brakes a bit sticky so had fitted new discs and pads at no extra cost...Really impressed as most garages would just clean them up...overall a calm experience and a lovely car..Well Happy ..would recommend to anyone

Excellent people to deal with, professional, courteous, no pressure selling. Initially I rang John regarding a vehicle which I had seen on Grosvenor Garages YouTube channel, sadly the car had already been sold. However, I rang the day after and spoke to Barrie and asked if they could source me a vehicle. I gave Barrie the details of my requirements and low and behold within two weeks, he messaged me to say they had just took delivery of one of the models I was after. I drove straight down to look, as the car had only just arrived, took the car out for a ride and really liked it. On my return, Barrie asked my thoughts and if I would like to think it over, but I had made mind up. An excellent price offered for my trade in, so put a deposit down. A week later the car was ready to be picked up, so down to Grosvenor I went, John talked me through the handover and all the service details and various paperwork that had come with the new vehicle, all explained easily and relaxed. Recommended.

Fantastic Company
Fantastic is the only way to describe my car buying from Grosvenor Garage. Barrie went over and beyond in helping me. I found my car on line whilst I was living in America. To say, it was hard getting my payment to him would be an understatement. Barrie was willing to wait until I got the money transferred from my American account. He also sorted out the tax my personal plates at no extra cost. John and Barrie brought the car to my new home in North Wales all free of charge.As there was an eight hours time difference we were e-mailing at crazy hours. I couldn't have wished for a better experience, Barrie and John are wonderful, honest caring people. As I hadn't seen the car before it arrived at my home ( after I had quarantined for 14 days), I was a little unsure BUT!!! it is wonderful, just as Barrie had told me. A Brilliant Company to deal with.
We needed a car for our son who, because of 'lockdown' restrictions, was unable to go to work as a teacher using public transport. Grosvenor Garage had the right car at the right price and with a comprehensive service history included. Following an initial telephone call we attended an appointment to test drive and purchase the Ford KA. Dealing with the Grosvenor staff was a pleasurable experience and, although we weren't spending a fortune, they went the extra mile by delivering the car to our home, sending off all the relevant paperwork and ensuring that we were comfortable with the whole deal. We therefore have no reservations about recommending Grosvenor Garage for their professionalism and service. Needless to say my son is delighted with the car and is now able to join his colleagues, teaching and making a difference.

Just purchased my new car from Grosvenor Garage and to say that I am delighted is an understatement. The car is stunning and the deal that I received is second to none. The guys at the garage put all other car dealers to shame in my opinion . . . and I've used a few of them. Nothing is too much of a bother and they go out of their way to ensure that you are happy with the agreement that you enter into with them. I arrived to pick up my car and had to wait until they resolved an unforeseen issue that had just come to light. They were not willing to let me leave until it was fixed. My car is white and the guys decided to machine polish it at no cost and ...my god...it sparkles. This is another service that you wouldn't get from so called major dealers. Lessons to be learned here I think. If you want a brilliant deal on your next used car, call them. Ordinary lads who don't mess you about .They are outstanding. One other thing ...watch the video reviews of their cars.....superb.

Every thing turned out to be true
I had been looking for a late Jaguar XK for some time, I particularly wanted Italian racing Red. I came across one advertised on e-bay by Grosvenor Garage. The advert included a video of the vehicle which all seemed to good to be true. I spoke to Grosvenor about the details of the car and the XJ I had to offer in part exchange. They convinced me it would be worth my 120 mile journey to have a trial run and work out a deal. I was sceptical because I couldn't believe it would be that good. On arrival the XK looked superb I was given the keys to have a trial run out and the car performed superbly I was well impressed. Everything they had said about the car seemed spot on and I decided I wanted it. They offered a very reasonable part exchange price on my car and the deal was done. Mr car had a cherished number plate and they did all the paperwork so that I could keep it. Well done Grosvenor its not often in this day and age that everything turns out to be as said but in your case it did.

Good car, for a good price
No frills, but no tricks either - just a good car at a good price and no dodgy sales patter. I don't like to be 'sold' a car - the chap I dealt with answered all my questions and let me 'drive' the conversation. He gave me a good price for my trade-in too. I didn't see anything about warranties, etc. but to be honest, you're often better off buying your own, which is what I did (you pay for it either way). He sorted out the tax for me whilst we were there, so that made things easier. All in, a really good experience and above all, I'm really happy with my car, (which I've since driven to London and Edinburgh, so would have noticed any issues by now). Thanks guys!

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to this time. Grosvenor Garage is a great little find. Purchased a Discovery 4 last week and the process could not have been more easy and pleasurable. I phoned up and enquired and all my questions were answered promptly. Viewed a day later and they even kept the vehicle for us until we had seen it . Not many dealers would do that. My part exchange was painless and they offered me what I wanted. They organised all my private plate transfer. Now have a great vehicle that is flawless. Their descriptions are honest and precise. Video road tests fantastic. We'd made our decision to buy it even before seeing it I think? I can thoroughly recommend Grosvenor Garage and its proprietors. Down to Earth, not pushy and no sales gimmicks. I'll certainly use them again and I live two hours away in Shropshire.

Purchase of Audi A6 from Grosvenor Garage.
A perfectly painless transaction. I particularly appreciated viewing the 'virtual' test drive carried out by Barry, before I decided to purchase the car. A most soffisticated arrangement of on board cameras which allowed a far more detailed description of the car's capabilities than a normal 'in person' test drive, which I skipped as a consequence. Well worth the almost 1000 mile round trip! Delighted with the car, and the price I paid was reasonable. I can thoroughly reccomend Grovenor Garage to any prospective buyer of a car.

The way buying a used car SHOULD be.
Whilst I was looking for a nice used Range Rover sport or Discovery 4, I went to a few dealers to try various cars out. The dealers were either overly keen to the point of being pushy, or quite the opposite as in rather unhelpful. Then I went to Grosvenor Garage.What a difference. This is how buying a used car should be. John & Barry were friendly & helpful, & never once gave me the impression they just wanted to shift another vehicle from the forecourt. When I had a minor problem withe the car ( a lovely RR Sport) they could not have been more courteous & sorted the issue out without any drama. The next time I want a nother car Grosvenor Garage will be first on my list.
